In 1930, when Eugène Desroches started the company to sell heating oil, he probably had no idea of what it would become. But even at that time, his motto was ‘to serve’, something that we still hold true today. When I joined the company in 1945, I knew right away that we had to offer a wide range of products and services to meet all the heating needs of customers. Since 1960, the company has further extended its expertise by offering both the installation and maintenance of central heating systems. Twenty years later, in 1980, we entered into a partnership with Petro-Canada to provide petroleum products, gasoline, diesel fuel and lubricants for the the auto industry as well as lubricants for industry.

In 1993, Les Huiles Desroches joined the Qualité-Québec movement. That same year, we inaugurated our Kaligaz gas station network. And in 1994, in response to rapid growth, we acquired a 13,000 sq.ft. building, set on a 63,000 sq.ft. lot, where all our operations are now concentrated.

In 1995, Les Huiles Desroches again extended its range of products and services to include the sale, installation and repair of lubricant equipment. We also offered the sale and installation of used oil storage tanks and tanks for fuel distribution. The family business has indeed prospered. We have diversified while adapting to modern values, with a focus on the environment and sustainable development. At the same time we have stuck to the values that have been with us from the very beginning..."Serve your customers well". And we apply this motto wholeheartedly.

Quality...an obsession

Through its association with Petro-Canada, Les Huiles Desroches is the only distributor of petroleum products that is a member of "Qualité-Québec". Profits generated in eastern Quebec are reinvested and are the source of job creation and employment for people in this area.

Pre-occupation with quality is the number one priority for the company and all is employees - particularly for our technical representatives, who are ready to meet any customer need when it comes to lubricants. Les Huiles Desroches can use Petro-Canada’s special laboratories in Montreal to resolve more complicated situations.

According to Petro-Canada, its oil refinery is the first in its field to qualify for the ISO9001 standard.
